Spontaneity ... It's A Good Thing.

It's been a few weeks since my last update and the reason for that is because I had gone up north to visit some friends I haven't seen in a while. Every few months, I drive up just to get away from the city. It's kind of interesting how even the littlest things are so different up north. Even the air is crisper and cleaner. One day, I just decided to drive up to a place called Old Woman Bay. It's about 20 minutes south of a town called Wawa. The place is just absolutely breathtaking (refer to picture).

I spent most of the day there, sitting on the beach looking out to the horizon. It gave me a chance to just sit back and enjoy the moment ... something us Torontonians do so rarely. I looked back at my life in the past year, and reflected on where it's heading and what I want to do with myself in the next year ... the next five years ... even the next ten years. In a sense, it put me back in touch with myself, my friends, and the world around me. It sounds sorta like a cliche, but it was pretty much a soul-searching experience.

I'm the kind of person who likes things set in stone, because anything else has no certainty to it. Ironically, I feel my life has a bit more order to it now and everything seems a bit more clear with my mind, body, and spirit completely recharged and energized ... all this out of a spontaneous thought. So I suggest you try it some time, because it just might turn out to be a good thing.

I've Arrived ... So Has Summer.

Alrighty, I'm now part of the TIG network, lol. I really don't know what to write here, but I do know I wanted to get the first update on here. The heatwave over the past few days have finally died down. I guess summer wanted to come in with a bang this year. I was not very fond of the weather.

The 416 labour strike isn't helping either with garbage mounting everywhere, not to mention that unpleasant garbage odour. Frankly, I'm quite upset about this strike because it's affecting my training schedule. Ice rinks are closed because the support staff are part of the union. Where am I supposed to train? This could serious affect plans for the upcoming competitive season. I guess what really upsets me is that people don't realize how good they have it, and then go on to complain and whine about not having enough. I'm sure there are tons of joblesss or homeless people out there who'll jump at the chance for a good job ... any job for that matter ... so they can pay their bills, have a warm meal, or even a roof over their heads. If you ask me, the strikers have no clue just how good they have it. Arg! Rant over, lol.

It's gotta get better than this. The summer's just begun.
